► CologneOFF 20XX – videoart in a global context –
Searching for an ideal form of presenting “art & moving images”

As a dynamic media art event context and nomadic festival project designed, programmed, C de la Presse
urated and directed by Agricola de Cologne in the framework of Cologne International Videoart Festival, “CologneOFF 20XX – videoart in a global context” started in 2010, when he took the perception how the jury for his 6th festival edition (directors of 7 renown international festivals) was voting – just one video collected 4 votes showing the curators following strictly their individual curatorial point of view – as the basis for researching an (his) ideal form of (re)presenting videoart.
The result is a flexible work in progress, a process incorporating the idea of a festival, not bound to a physical location, but travelling from one venue, country and continent to another presenting a hybrid type of mono-channel videos, which can be presented in the same way via screening, projection and installation.

A dual system is forming the supporting frame-work
– virtual (online) components (see links) – all videos, info & event updates online – juxtaposed with the physical component in form of networked screenings & exhibitions
– Agricola de Cologne’s curatorial opinion juxtaposed with the curatorial opinions of 40 curators (40 countries) demonstrating the multi-facetted diversity of artistic and curatorial approaches
– the active presenter juxtaposed with the passively consuming audience to be activated via interventions like lectures, panel discussions, artists talks, round table or workshops, not to forget the different types presentation forms, in total, an interactive context intending to link the audience, artists, curators and institutions by thinking and acting in new terms without any restriction.

About CologneOFF

Founded in 2005 and unique in its kind, CologneOFF is based on the unconventional concept to be a festival without a static festival location but built on global networking instead, based on a growing collection of art videos to be expanded each year by realising a new festival edition, instead of organising each year again an event just for 3 days, based on a dual system of equal virtual and physical components, focussing on new and experimental artistic expressions, instead of following already known paths. All this gives its founder and director Agricola de Cologne all freedom to set through his ideas of encouraging artists to create « total art » works by using the multi-facetted medium of digital video.
In 2014, CologneOFF was realising its 10th festival edition celebrating 10 years exciting developments in the field of “art and moving images”

Cologne International Videoart Festival is operated by artvideoKOELN – the curatorial initiative « art & moving images ».

2015 (œuvre inédite / original work)

► Frédéric Krauke & Antonio Chipriana,

art-action by les revenants“ //// „the returnees“ with the assistence of Rosa González Sánchez

For Parachute Light Zéro Frédéric Krauke works together with the performance-artist Antonio Chipriana, as « Krau-Chip ».
Both will merge together for the first time. They have developed the concept of this art-action based on the idea of increasing pressure and fear in a capital like Paris in though days, searching for the future and hope bringing aspects of art and phantasy as a necessary and elementary part of an free and critique society.

Frédéric Krauke
was born and lives as an artist in Berlin. Originally coming from the fine arts media drawing and print-making, F.K. has developed his artistic work in short-movies, organizing and realizing several art-events, combining the diversity of medias and personalities of his colleges. Meanwhile he uses the performances art, as a way to combine this experiences to transcend personal, physical and spiritual limits, most often in exchange and collaboration with other artists.
The performance develops in a process of approaching the moment of action. It can not be rehearsed and recalled like a theater-piece.
It depends on the situation; space, time and conditions. The tension in the fore field in between imagination and preparation remains until the moment of release in the transcendental act of performing and creates its own reality and consciousness.

► Clementine D. Calcutta / Vj Mushroom Sushi Girl

► Anna Stereopoulou GALANTHUS

The music piece «Galanthus» was composed, mixed and mastered by Anna Stereopoulou (April-May 2014), for the MAARBLE «Sounds of Space» Musical Composition Contest (2014). The composition consists of various space sounds (i.e. electromagnetic waves), “compiled through the Canadian Array for Realtime Investigations of Magnetic Activity (CARISMA) data”, offered to all participants. The audio files (in .wav format) are taken from the two available categories (20Hz & 100Hz) and used both “in their original form and in various technically modified forms”. Towards the final section of the piece [07:18 – 07:55 /(08:07)] we listen to the only sound performed and produced by the composer, when the melody -previously created by space sounds- is now performed on Piano, in a retrograde transformation. Galanthus plant is said to have been an antidote against Circe’s poisonous drugs (Greek mythology). Mother -planet- Earth; i.e. Nature is the greatest teacher and healer, through close observation and listening of its functions and miracles found within its microcosm and macrocosm, we are invited to Learn. The work «Galanthus» holds an important place in the composer’s project and research « c i r c e :the black cut: ». [Detailed Info about the work: http://wp.me/p2zRWp-j6]

► Adele Paris – Vinyl

► Lugano Fell – Live

is the solo project of James Taylor of Swayzak. Being highly active in the techno world for over 12 years and releasing 5 CD albums and 3 mix CDs, this alternate venture started as a tonic for too many weekends of earbashing in the clubs of Europe. It has evolved over the last 3 years into a mature and intensely personal music.

Utilising a huge range of sound producing devices, the music of Lugano Fell never stands still. From the early work of hardware tonal feedback drones, to computer manipulation via guitar abuse and cassette mashing. Over several CDr releases the sound has swerved and dodged until to coming to the peaceful resting place where we now find ourselves.

► L:ED

L:ED comme « Experiments in Digital »

► Violet Fall

is a duo of electronic music composed by Elisa Batti (NL/IT) -electronics- and Jenny Thiele (DE) -voice and keyboard-.

Their project, that was just recently born, blends together the ethereal and at the same time energetic voice of Jenny Thiele with the dry sounds and beats of Elisa Batti. In this landscape, through vocalisms, small talks, breathes and small games, the voice becomes as well a musical instrument and also a perfect tool to be further manipulated with the help of the electronics.
Violet Fall melodies create an emotional world where the rythmical pattern merge with a canvas of continuosly sliding and soflty evolving sounds. The electronic sounds, that are all hand krafted in a MAX MSP environment, recall the japanese electronic scene.
The duo alchemy is perfectly bonded thanx to the complementarity and diversity of the two musicians, making the live set a powerfull act.

► Eve Lys

it will be about clouds in the sky, life, ambient and techno music !

As i told you before i m a radio lover,
My radio show MONTMARTRORAMA began on radio23.org (usa) some five years ago and went on for 2 years on radio sensations (fr) till June 12.

► Gabriel Otero [Project 92]

The Pacific Ocean has already received around 800 tons of radioactive material from the explosion at the Fukushima nuclear plant and that, under the bright silence of the media. The story of Fukushima should make a daily basis. The brightest of the world should work together to try to find a solution or, if that the way to deal with the consequences of this unprecedented disaster that exposes us to risks of radiation ever encountered from the beginning of humanity.

https://vimeo.com/118086109

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Project-92/929406360412387

Project 92 : Appel à projet international – Net Art
